Ted Conover – Assistant Pastor (pastorted2@verizon.net)
Pastor Conover grew up in a Christian home, but it was not until 42 years of age that he
was saved. Three months after getting saved Pastor Ted enrolled at Northland Baptist
Bible College in Dunbar, Wisconsin to prepare for ministry. Following his graduation from
Northland he pastored Lakeland Baptist Church in Crandon, Wisconsin and then served
as Director of Field Operations with FREEdom Flyer Ministries. He and his wife, Phyllis,
moved to Florida in the fall of 2003 and Pastor Ted joined the pastoral staff in January,
2005. He oversees the Bereans ministry and the visitation program.

Steve Armstrong – Music/Youth Director
Steve is a native of Bradenton, Florida; he accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1981
during a children’s revival meeting at Community Baptist Church in Bradenton. After
graduating from high school, Steve attended Bob Jones University, receiving a Bachelor’s
Degree in Voice Performance. He earned a MM from the University of South Florida in
Choral Conducting and is currently working on a DMA in choral conducting. Steve serves
as the music/youth director at Berea, teaches voice lessons at Clearwater Christian
College and is the director of Berea Fine Arts Academy. Steve and his wife, Sharon,
moved to the Tampa area and joined Berea in 2006. They have two girls, Jenna and
Kelly.

Pastor Gotcher received Christ as his personal Savior in
1984 during a spring revival meeting on his college
campus in Texas. Upon graduation he moved to
Michigan with Electronic Data Systems and became an
active member at First Baptist Church of Troy. In 1988
God began to burden his heart about full-time ministry;
in 1989 he joined the staff of FBCT and began attending
Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received
his M.Div. in 1994. God used him to plant Grace Baptist
Church in Waterford, Michigan, where he pastored for
seven years prior to moving to Florida. He and his wife,
Rhonda, came to Berea in May of 2004 with their
children, Mack, Ethan, Kayla and Jared. Pastor Gotcher
earned his D.Min. from Bob Jones University in 2005.
